We recently spent a few nights at Nselweni bush camp in KZN and enjoyed some birdwatching in very hot conditions. At 4:30 one afternoon we went out for a game drive and the temperature was still 37 degrees, thank goodness for car air cons!
Strangely the gate closing time was 7:00 pm and it’s actually quite dark then, so we were able to get a ‘night drive’ in too. It’s quite a productive area for birdwatching as well as game viewing. We had a terrific time with a pair of male lions who were on the hunt as well as several other of the big five.
Here’s a few of the birds we caught on camera.
